Described by some critics as “painfully slow”, I was glued to the screen from start to finish.

A movie taking place in Tahiti, an island I knew very little about, that explores its politics, culture and different lifestyles all while being a subtle spy Thriller. It’s a poster child of a “slow burn” movie, having a slow pace (though it almost feels like a race when you compare it to most of Serra’s other work) with an ending that leaves a mark.

A fascinating insight into a different way of life and a contemporary warning at the same time.
