The Pitch: Before he wrote the Oscar-winning adapted screenplay for "Call Me By Your Name", James Ivory was directing lush period pieces full of passion, perhaps none so exquisite as this love triangle featuring Helena Bonham Carter as a young woman torn between her staid and proper suitor, played impeccably by Daniel Day-Lewis, and a free-thinking heartthrob played by Julian Sands.
